We MUST get a CP puppy together!!! 2 years sounds about right. My GSD puppy will be 2 by then. I really want a different colored BC, like a blue merle or a sable merle.
Yeah I am totally bummed about it because he has been so awesome. He has a great build, strong but not 'thick' and very long-legged and athletic, and his coat spoils me. It is so low maintenance, he is dry 10 minutes after jumping in the river. I didn't really care what kind of coat I got when I first picked him but having now had a dog with such a low maintenance but (imo) attractive coat I will probably consider it for my next dog. I want to stay away from dogs with thick coats but don't want a smooth either... I am picky

Let's totally get a puppy together. Heck, let's just get litter mates and share pictures all the time It's fun to get puppies at the same time as other people, if I do get my dog in the next 2 years and you are also in the market it will be fun to be new dog-moms together!

Wow really? I didn't expect that. I think Spy cost me ~$850 not including shipping (that was about $100). I thought his price was fair, not sure if I would be prepared to pay 2000 for just the pup though.

Good lord LOL 2k for a border collie PUPPY? That's just ridiculous...

I'm not used to seeing BC puppies go for more than like 500.

Wow, price variance between breeds is amazing. 2000 for a well known breeder seems reasonable to me but I dont know border collies at all lol

Yeah, I wouldn't blink at it for some breeds, but BCs aren't generally anywhere near that pricey.

2k is even quite a bit for a papillon. That's quite a bit more than I've ever spent on a dog.

I mean, it's possible there are less expensive CP dogs but my friends with sport quality girls all paid a lot for them.

I believe the HN dogs cost about 1,200+/-.

When I inquired about a male, working/sport quality CP puppy 2 years ago, the price was going to be $800.

They are REALLY popular and have REALLY awesome dogs, but I'd ask them directly. It might vary a lot.

Umi, the dog posted earlier, cost about 2K and a pup from her sister Shady will cost the same.

Of course proven and unproven litters do vary. Sloan cost 650 but a repeat of her breeding shot up to 1,000 because the pups turned out so nicely.
