Does your dog tolerate puppies?

Ivan loves puppies and is very careful, even though most of the time he is like a bull in a china shop. I have yet to see him correct a puppy. He does scare some especially if they are small because he does get excited.
Peewee well is not as tolerant, and just tries to avoid them. But that is Peewees solution to anything he doesn't like, avoidance.

Raja is the best nursemaid in the world. She did a wonderful job of raising my other two, and she looooves having puppies around. Tempie tolerates them but mostly ignores them. Boone doesn't like them but will tolerate them if he must.

Desoto is not a fan of other dogs, he is more likely to put up with a pup than an adult though.
Duke has no manners with other dogs and puppies tend to put up better with his zomgiloveyouletsbefriendsFOREVER!!! in your face attitude. So he tends to love puppies.
Radar likes smaller dogs better than big ones (if we are talking strange dogs) and as young pups are on the smaller side he usually likes them a lot. He will put up with things from a puppy when playing that he would normally not tolerate as much with an adult dog.

Bandit loves puppies. He has such a mothering instinct in him. He is a nanny dog forsure.

Bailey doesn't care much for "strange" puppies -- he tries to avoid them. After they've grown up a bit and he's gotten used to them, he's fine with them.

It took about 4 days before he'd play with Grace. Now I think he really likes her, except when she's being rude -- especially when she pesters him when he's lying down and wants a break. He doesn't correct her enough IMO, and she can be quite a brat. So we're looking forward to puppy class, lol.

Last puppy Sarama encountered was my mother's 4 month old (at the time) poodle. She ignored little Truffle entirely until Truffle tried to bounce her . . . then she growled and Truffy retreated to Mom . . . so . . . well, she didn't beat up the puppy . . . that's pretty good right?

When I got Keeva she refused to be in the same room with the little hell spawn for almost a month. When Traveler was 9 wks he accidentally bumped into her and she pretended to eat his head, but it's all noise with her.

That sounds like about how I think Cynder will react. I'm really hoping when I get my pup he will be a good puppy and not a brat puppy like Chloe, or both Chloe and Cynder are going to hate him. Which will not make things easy on me. lol

Mindy is getting up there now (13) she tolerates puppies...

Diamond not so much, she is 11 and blind, they invade her space and she corrects harshly... She does not hurt them pysically so much but pushes them around pretty harshly and if I did not step in she might hurt them... With her I believe it's more because of being blind and getting startled though..

Foster loves all creatures as a rule, pups, adults anything willing to play! He will miss Lucy for sure!! He oddly enough has only ever truly not liked one dog in his life and it was a female Labradoodle!

so I guess that would be a yes. She's funny though - she plays too rough for tiny tiny puppies and once they hit a certain size, if she hasn't been introduced to them when they were smaller she gets defensive. Because of that, I typically foster puppies that are bigger than 10 or 12 pounds but smaller than 20 or 25 when I first bring them into the house.

Lugar is excellent with puppies, as in he doesn't growl or get nasty with them, but he isn't one to up and play right away. Depends on how old the puppy is. If the puppy is a baby still he just tolerates the puppy biting and will sometimes play back. When he does, he just holds his mouth open as the puppy is attacking his face, and then he lays down, rolls onto his back and paws at them. If it's an older puppy he is all about play time. I think he can distinguish the size difference. If we're meeting a puppy for the first time, he's all about meeting them and is oober excited. After the fact, he will ignore them/tolerate them unless they're old enough to rough around. Thankfully though, when my mom and I fostered young puppies, he was usually the one to keep them occupied.

The one weird thing he will do with a puppy (he does it with the cat too if he tries to love on him) is when he's laying down just hanging out or sleeping and the puppy will come to play or lay next to him, he jumps up all dramatic as if the puppy is on fire. Then he walks away or gets up in the chair where the puppy can't get to him. I don't know why he does it... he never growls or anything. Just jumps up quickly.
