Unhappy Jack Needs Vibes....

He has begun limping badly.

He has elbow dysplasia in his left elbow and had a bone chip removed years ago, and has DJD in that elbow as a result. The limping in in that leg. However, it is very severe--he will barely put weight on it--and just seems different than a painful elbow limp.

The pad on that paw looks like it was scraped, so I am hoping that's all it is. I can bend all of his joints without any reaction from him, and can palpitate the entire leg without reaction. The only reaction I get is when touching his paws, but even then it's not very strong.

Jack is in "doggie jail" right now because he still wants to hobble around like a madman. Poor guy can barely put weight on his foot but he keeps bringing me toys. I gave him some NSAID too....

He has a vet appointment Monday.....

I would really appreciate any vibes and prayer you guys can spare. I'm worried....

After palpitating his leg and foot again the only response we got was from his toe area. Can dogs sprainr toes? I'm starting to wonder if he got his foot caught either in the yard or in his crate somehow and injured himself pulling it out. He is not happy to be crated on a Saturday, but the medicine doesn't seem to be helping much and when he's out he just wants to hobble around with a toy in his mouth :-(

I can't answer your question, I would guess they can...

I just wanted to say Lab's are so stoic, I grew up with them and remember that about them, Ceaser in particular (Choc Lab I adored) he had a fish hook in his lip at the lake one day and was still happily swimming out and getting his ball until Dad noticed!

I'm sure they can, just like people can. There is a bone there, after all. He couldn't have broken a toe, could he?
