UGH I"m so frustrated with the people that are slowly encroaching on this neighborhood.
People who have lots of kids but can't be bothered to supervise them. A gaggle of kids out there running around, many of them 5 and under (I'm guessing) and NO ONE is watching them. I just found them in my yard looking for worms ![]() The dogs weren't out... I brought them in because the little buggers were pestering them and while the dogs love the attention I'm not going to encourage it. When I saw that they were in the yard I went out and asked them what they were doing in my yard and then I told them that they were never EVER to come into my yard or anyone else's without permission from the yard owner. the one kid ended stuck in my yard because he couldn't climb back over our 5 ft privacy fence. I asked him "Now what if I wasn't home, you would be stuck in my yard. what if you were hurt? who would help you? DON'T go into peoples yards" and then I let him out of the gate and sent him on his way But seriously... no parent in sight. What is wrong with people?

And what proof have you that she's not?
![]() Hopefully I've taught my kids to ask permission........Lord knows frisbees, balls, airplanes, etc have went into various neighbor's yards over the years. One time my son's helicopter even crash landed on someone's roof! LOL

At first I thought, 'eh, they wandered over the boundary that separates your yard from your neighbors. Not THAT big of a deal. Maybe they didn't realize they were in your yard." but you mean like, IN your FENCED yard? That's crazy! Our neighbors have lots of kids and they wander into our yard. It's annoying but not a huge deal. We both have small yards side by side and no fence. That's understandable. Not climbing a privacy fence.

Of course kids aren't thinking that while they are out playing though, which is why parents should make them understand personal property. If the kid is old enough to be outside playing around the neighborhood unsupervised, then they should be old enough to understand trespassing IMO.

You know, I liked my old neighborhood because the kids were allowed out to play without adults hovering . . . but I don't think any of them were THAT little. At least not without a significantly older sibling along.
And they always knocked on our door to get their ball back . . . of course, six foot locked fences and barking dogs do that . . . . I'm all for free-ranging kids . . . but under five?

I REALLY hope the kids didn't have that (we are talking 8 years old and under). When they saw us look out our window they grabbed their chairs and ran.but yeah this was climbing over a 5 ft privacy fence I went out and said "What are you DOING in my yard" and their answer was "collecting worms" and they acted like they were supposed to be in my yard. Like they had no idea that was NOT cool. So obviously not only do their parents not watch them but they also don't teach them that you don't go into peoples yardsQuote:
it's a sad state of affairs when that's what you think about when kids come into your yard uninvited. I can't say I really blame the kids... it appears they have no idea that that's not an acceptable thing to do. the parents just don't care. AND the mother of the one set of kids is heavily pregnant ... oh goody... another one. and they leave their dogs out on their second level porch and I'm always afraid the dogs are going to try to jump off.

It makes me sad to think this is what it is coming to. The whole POINT of living in a neighborhood is to work as a team and let your kids play together without parents being up their ass

yes I have no problem with reasonably aged kids being out on their own but these kids were definitely 5 or under and I know the one little girl next door is only 3 and she's always out there by herself with NO ONE, not even a sibling.
