I totally pictured her as black in my mind. Dark skin = black to me. People need to get over themselves and stop being idiots.

I always pictured Rue as black and thought it was very obvious that that was what the author was describing without having to say "little black girl." I actually pictured her darker than the girl in the movie.

I remember seeing youtube videos of people's opinion on the perfect Hunger Games cast, and many of them cast white girls as Rue and I couldn't help but go WTF. Some people saw Rue as a girl with just tan skin. In the second book when meeting Rue's family, the author descibe them looking like a pack of dark birds huddle together. How more obvious can you get?

Actually really does not suprise me , have any of you actually listened to a pack of teens lately?

i have had in the last couple years NUMEROUS convo with the two older kids.
they have been on ,
jews and there money
any black sterotype you can think of
poor people being of less worth then rich
and muslims , ow those sterotypes are also horrid.

and it is not just my sons i have heard and flipped out on , there whole group of 20 or so friends are ALL THE SAME WAY.

I have even went so far as to call some of the younger ones parents and let them know how there children where acting, there horror matched my own , so it is really not an upbringing thing . as those types of things are never alowed in my home. i dont know where it is coming from actually.
