I love them. Meg got her name because I wasn't sure I was keeping her and I refused to give her one of my "keeper" names, but I actually love it now and it suits her quite well.
Gusto is the most aptly named creature on the planet.

I'm not sure how I feel about the name "Trent". I was actually always avidly against people name for dogs (although I like them now), I had gone through list after list of names but settled on "Trent" on whim, actually.
It just sounded right when I first thought of it, and to be honest, I can't see Trent having any other name. I think it suits a dog like him, he looks like a "Trent", whatever that means! I have never met another dog or person named Trent, but I know it's not an uncommon name for people. My cats are named Bree and Raina. Bree again was named on whim, the name randomly came to mind while I was running an errand and felt like an epiphany - she just looked like a "Bree". We had tried Callie and Hailey and Whisper and a multitude of other names, but none of them suited her as well. Another human name LOL But again, I don't know anyone named Bree, or any animal... well, with the exception of Shaina's "Brie". She was actually initially named "Gracie". One, I hate that name and two, MY name is "Grace" so that sure as hell wasn't going to stick! Raina was named by my younger sister, not sure why, but I don't like it much. She's a rather unique looking cat with a crazy personality, I've always felt that she should have a "different" name but I'm used to it now. I just call her the Squirrel Spawn Bitch ![]() Quote:

Bandit came with his name and I never thought to change it. Doesn't really go with his sweet personality but I think he looks like one.

I love Lugar's name and I don't see him having any other name. He's got nick names he goes by too. My mom actually had come up with the name because we were trying to decide on something that didn't clash with the other names in the house to avoid confusion. lol
My other dog's names I liked as well. It fit them & they were actually all named before we got them. Sheiba was our first female husky (weirdly enough we just lost our golden retr/chow X of 15 years not long before and her name was Sheiba). Our next husky was named Denali, & our male husky was named Ike. Most of those names I never ran into anyone who had the same name, even working at a dog daycare/boarding facility. I always take my time naming a dog and usually I try to go with what their personality is like. But I like uncommon names. Sometimes they just jump in my head. 2 names I absolutely loved, for 2 foster puppies we bottle raised (out 4 others) was Caden & Maui. They were doberman/GSD X puppies.

Romeo? eh. it's one of those things.. I don't LOVE his name but it fits him so perfectly that it works lol
Romeo just..suits him. I wish the name wasn't so popular (because that really is the only reason I don't like the name itself) but yea, Romeo will always be his name. and as for "why don't we change it"... same reason I don't change MY name even though I don't love it very much.. force of habit, and even though I don't love my name..it's hard to imagine being called anything else lol

One would think as many times a day as I have to say the name ORSON I would loathe it by now, but honestly I still like it as much as when we pinned it on him well over 5 years ago, LOL
Phoebe's name the kids picked...(the shelter called her Gazelle I think) about 12 years ago.....it was ok then and it's ok now. Don't love it, don't hate it but it does suit her

I love the name Jackson but definitely am disappointed that it's becoming so popular, but oh well. At the time I named him, I thought I was being all unique, as I hadn't met many people named Jackson (if any, at the time) and certainly no dogs. I meet young kids named Jackson all the time now and have met three dogs named it, it keeps creeping up the baby name lists... but I still love the name and it completely suits him so I wouldn't change it. And it's still not as common as the Max's, Sam's, Buddy's, etc.

I actually didn't pick Zander's name. I wanted to name him completely different. But then my mother put the name down as "Zander" at his first vet appointment anyway.
I can't change it now because he's 7 years old. It's just stuck. Lol.
