Default Do your dogs care?

I'm watching an upsetting movie (and surfing the net, and playing spider solitaire on the computer--big Saturday night), and Elsie keeps climbing into my lap for hugs. I'm not making noise, and the movie isn't particularly loud, but she's more upset than I am.

Do your dogs care when you get upset because of a movie?

Nope. lol They might watch me but they keep their distance. Truthfully though I have space issues, I don't like to be touched as a general rule and I respond badly to being touched if I didn't initiate it so they may just be programmed.

Oh gosh, Elsie's such a hugger.

I hate being touched by people most of the time, and strangers' dogs, but Elsie gets away with anything.

Panzer hates it when my husband plays Battlefield. He often plays with headphones on, so she can't hear the game, but every time he plays she'll hide behind my computer chair, or if I'm not home, she'll sulk by herself.

Nope. Meg ignores me completely when I'm crying upset. She leaves the room if I get wound up at a game or something. I always find it weird; my old Bedlington, to whom I was much less connected, would get so upset if I was crying.

I don't think I've ever cried in front of Gusto. I have a feeling he'd think it was a fun game and pounce on my head.

Caleb gets concerned when he hears someone crying on TV, but not overly so anymore. He used to "worry" because he couldn't get to them to comfort them. Now he looks at the tv, then to me to see what I have to say about it. If I'm crying, that's a different story. Then he's got his feet in my lap, licking me. He's pretty much that way with anyone who cries.

Poor Cynder ran out of the living room the other day and into the bed with me because Mike was having a not-so-good-moment with Battlefield. LOL She doesn't care when he plays, but if he starts yelling at the game it freaks her out a little bit.

Chloe doesn't care a bit whether or not I am emotionally upset. I have yet to be emotionally upset around Cynder, so I can't say for her. Apollo, however, gets very concerned when I cry and he comes up for cuddles and purrs his little heart out until I'm done. Then he'll growl at me at walk away. LOL

Nia doesn't seem to care when I'm upset for whatever reason. She stares at me for a bit, then just walks away and does her normal stuff...

Knox cares. Ozzy and Enzo don't. If I'm crying anyway.
