I lived in Newfoundland as a kid. We all had 'talks' about what happens if you see a moose. Now this was back in 1980, but we were told to go to a house, ANY house (OMG strangers!!) and tell them there was a moose wandering and ask if you could call your parents, or wait till it left.

LOL! Being in the general KW area, I can confirm first hand that there is indeed a shortage of bull moose in the area. We had a bear pass through a few years ago but swamp-donkeys are definately MIA.

He was released unconditionally after no charges were made. How good of them. Makes holding him without any real reason (along with the strip-search) all okay. /sarcasm

It has gotten completely ridiculous.

In my niece's old elementary school, the kids couldn't even PRETEND to have guns. I'm not even kidding. The classic make-believe children's games like cops and robbers, soldier, Wild West, etc., were off limits. According to my sister-in-law, one child got in big trouble for simply pointing his forefinger at another student and shouting "bang!" while playing during recess.
