I put less then 75$. I like to change collars too much to spend a boat load on just one. I do like an appreciate good collars though, so maybe in the future I will spend more. Plus with poodles, he can only wear nice big collars when he has short hair. If I want to let the hair grow, he cant wear them so I dont get as much use out of them.

Rory has 2 $90 collars, but I spent a little less than that on them (sales and free shipping). For Rory, I'd never get him a hand tooled collar- he's WAY too rough on his stuff and would totally mess it up! I'd consider something custom, but like Leah said- the expense would come from the hardware rather than the labor of hand tooling.

The most I'd spend on a daily collar for the chihuahuas would be $80. Chloe has her 'special' collar for Dia de los Muertos which was $100- not a daily use collar, but she'll wear it for the whole month of October. I'm considering hand tooled for one of them (probably Chloe), which will still end up at under $200 for what I want.

Add tags, though, and the costs go way up! I just spent $50 on a Fat Brass tag for Rory to match his new collar. I never thought I'd spend that much on a tag!

$10... really I don't get the whole collar thing. Sometimes I even hit the clearance bin at the pet store when I need a new collar for Willow. Her current collar was $4

Up to $100. If I have the money, why not... I'd like a nice collar that can hold up to the wear and tear. My current cheapies are just kind of gross looking and even my $50 leather collar has pieces falling off. I'd be comfortable spending money on something that I know is well made and will last.

Note--this is only for Juno though, who does go out and about a lot. Lucy, who just goes to the groomer and gets the occasional walk, doesn't need more than a cheap one from Target.

I'm totally ruined. I used to think that I would never spend that much for a collar or a tag. I won a contest for my first Paco. Now I can't imagine them having anything else.

I've been ruined since I ordered my first Paco. Now I won't even put my dogs in fabric/ribbon collars. It's terrible. Every other leather collar has been sitting in a box untouched since then.

I said no more than $50 because 1. I have 4 dogs, and 2. I like switching collars out way too much! That being said, if I have a special occasion/reason I might consider more for something super special.

Less than $100.
and I would only spend that much on ONE MAIN COLLAR. It would have to be..

A) A collar that I use a lot (almost every day)
B) It would have to be long lasting/Quality leather
C) Be able to withstand dirt/water/mud etc..
D) Be pleasant to look at
E) Be useful/sturdy (D ring for tags, ring for leash, etc..)
F) Age well
G) Be Guaranteed by whomever I bought it from (for defects, problems etc..)

For pretty fun occasional collars.. my top price is about $40.
By that I mean Nylon, Bowed, Bedazelled collars I pull out for fun occasions..
