Default Twins (NO I am NOT preggo)

So TJ and I were talking about twins and triplets.
I knew he was a twin and his sister told me what "happened" but she lied.

When TJ and his brother/sister where in the womb, TJ "killed" the other baby. It happened when his mom was maybe 3 months along and TJ kind of took over the other baby and POOF there was no more baby brother/sister with TJ.

Now I made this thread to say...

How likely would be for me to get pregnant and have twins? LOL

I am TERRIFIED of having more than one baby at a time, like scared to death of this happening.
I have no history of twins/triplets/or more in my family, and TJ is the only one in his family since his dad's dad's cousin (or something like that, so its been a few generations lol), who was a twin.

So how likely is it that if TJ and I had kids, that we would have twins?

I am just thinking out loud and was just curious.

That's actually common- it's called Vanishing Twin Syndrome. One twin absorbs the other one.

I don't know how likely it would be. On my mom's side, it happens every other generation. My grandma was a twin, but she didn't have twins. Both my mom and my aunt had twins. So I won't have twins, but my daughters will. (Suckers. LOL) I, for one, am very glad that I am in the "skip" generation...I'm nervous enough about getting pregnant with ONE baby, I can't imagine two (or more).

I was also supposedly a twin. Presumably a brother, because the doctor said "that's a boy's heart beat!"
I destroyed him, because there can be only one.

Fraternal twins are genetic but identical twins are not. However it's usually passed down through women, not men; it's a gene for hyperovulation which means the woman is more likely to have multiple eggs in the womb thus multiples. So TJ may pass that gene on to your children, but it's going to have nothing to do with YOUR ovulation.
There also is no real science involved to the theory that it skips generations.

So basically: no.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA Nice.

My grandmother was a twin who had twins. None of them have had twins (any of her seven children) so it's entirely possible that one of my sisters (well, the only one left who potentially wants children, one is done having them and I don't want them) could have twins.

I could not stop laughing at this. I almost peed my pants lol.
When I asked TJ if he missed his twin, he said "No I never really knew the guy" and I once again couldn't stop laughing.
I know it is not humorous to some, but to others it is.

And thanks everyone!
Beanie, your reply was very helpful. <3

I'm a fraternal twin and we were the only ones on both sides of a very large family until last year. My second cousin just had fraternal twins. I really want twins, but the probability of it happening is probably pretty low.
