Default The dogs of Southwest Michigan.

I work at the SPCA of Southwest Michigan and like to get my dogs as much exposure as possible, no matter how small, because you never know who might come across them and want to take them home. I'll update this thread with dogs as often as possible, but I'm going to start with my two pals I've been really hoping for homes for. I'd be willing to help in any way possible (I'm apart of transport communities) to get these guys out of the kennel setting and into their forever homes (or foster homes!)

Artie I would DESPERATELY love to see adopted. He is a year and some change and has spent that year and some change in and out of the shelter. He was adopted and then returned because he "grew too large" (you don't know what size a Coonhound will be as an adult?) and then he was in foster but destroyed a couch to get to the foster's cat. Other fosters kept him briefly and he was returned cited being "too much" The Artie I experience on a daily basis is a guy who loves to get down with his play group, walks well on the leash, and was house broken at some point and would likely take easily to it again.

Chance, for me, is THE very type of dog I would snatch up out of a rescue. He's 3 years old, completely house trained, walks great on a leash, calm and friendly with all sorts. I am honestly baffled he is still there. Perhaps because he was a bit over weight when he came back to us, perhaps because he doesn't run to the bars of the kennel when every potential family passes- but he is a great dog. I always say "If I didn't already have my limit.."

If any dog deserves a home, it is Artie for sure. I hear so much about that guy and I cannot believe he lives in a shelter. He is such a find and seriously look at that hound face.

Guy loves to go swimming, too. Who doesn't want a big old houndy that loves to swim?

I'm partial to this gal, Dancer. She's a sweet Doberman mix who likes to just lay on your lap and eat toys. She needs leash work, but she isn't a terrible walk. Super dog friendly though she is shy at first. She would do well in a home with other rowdy dogs as she likes to play rough.
