I'm taking some photo classes and the teacher says I'm ready for a step up over my compact 12 pxl cybershot
![]() But I'm a bit nervous since I have never owned something more advanced that a compact, he says it would be good for me to own one wit removable lens and a diaphragm to improve my pics. Also something that is affordable, also wish accesories to get? I',m a newbie on this things so any tip is welcome, I really like the lumixs and canons. Here's so examples I took wit my cybershot: ![]() This is a "minuta" that is ice wit condensed fruit juices and milk. ![]()

Hmm do you have a budget range?
The Nikon D40 and D60 might be good bets, however, I don't know if you blow up photos a lot because the D40 is 6 MP, the D60 is 10 MP. Both are excellent cameras if you don't have much to spend though. You can get a full kit for about $250 for the D40, and probably $250-300 for the D60. Depending on what you shoot, you might need to get an extra zoom lens like the 55-200, especially for dogs and animals. If you had more money to spend on a camera though, look at a used D90. The price has come down a lot and it's an absolutely fantastic camera!! It has so much more capabilities than a D40/D60. It's about 600ish used right now. |

As for Canons, the T2i is a good bet. It's going for about $650 new here, $550 used.
