Running contact training is still at a standstill, waiting on a piece of plywood to make a thinner plank than the one I currently have, plus it's snowing again here, grr.

Lol, Panzer still does the on-top tunnel run too if she's on a training break near it, that's fun stuff!

It sounds like you guys are having a blast with agility so far and I don't see you having any problems since the dogs are so used to having fun in and on all sorts of stuff and so used to having fun while training.

Now we just need some video (hint hint)!

Thanks! She really is a good girl that tries hard.

It sucks that she's in heat right now though so we'll probably miss the rest of our foundation classes. I am going in to help instruct though, and it was a blast this week! It's so much fun to watch a team "get" a new concept and have fun while learning.

I am so happy the training facility Emily and I are taking classes at lets in females in heat

It's a lot of fun! I'm tickled we found a place that's competition oriented

I still worked Sloan in heat, we had one person bitch and moan about it but we were in an advanced class and frankly you should be able to control your dog by then, IMO.

This. We let girls in heat even into our puppy classes as long as they have undies on. Great distraction opportunity.

We've had dogs (or bitches, rather! glad to see I can use that word on this board lol) in heat in our classes too. No one had any issue with it.

Gusto is edging up to a year, so he's getting to see weave poles and jumps a bit at last! Definitely a different experience training them with a free-shaping genius who doesn't believe in fear compared to Meg's caution. He tried putting his front feet on the jump bar, backing through it, swinging his hind feet up over it, and everything else that occurred to him before actually going over it. My little nut. Weave poles were much of the same - backing into them, banging them with his face, etc. He got two short sessions in classes before I pulled out the weaves at home to start playing with them. This is day 8, with a couple of days skipped completely because of rain. Usually 2 sessions a day, 5 minutes or less. More than that, and ADD child goes wandering!

I'm pretty pleased with him! He actually single strided a couple tonight (video was yesterday), which I wasn't sure he was even capable of at his size. He still sometimes skips when he is really booking it, but I love where he is at for this stage in the game.
