Congrats Cali and Lucy, and way to go Summer!!

One week to go for us. Weave pole drills are on tap for today.

Also we just about finished building my dog walk at my house. I need to put together the supports for the up and down planks and I want to run a few screws through the uprights to sink the board in more snug, but it's just about ready to go. One month before I need to have contacts on P... yikes.

Here's a final recap of our first time out.

first trial by Summer_Papillon, on Flickr

Saturday:

Mia gamblers: 3rd (I didn't even check yesterday since I knew we didn't Q)
Summer gamblers: --
Summer jumpers: 2nd, Q

Sunday:

Mia gamblers: 3rd
Summer gamblers: 2nd, Q
Summer jumpers: --

Gamblers went phenomenal with both. Mia actually got the gamble but I positioned myself too far away when the buzzer went and we couldn't make it back in time. My fault. Summer's gamblers run was superb and pretty much flawless. We racked up a ton of points.

Jumpers started well but the second tunnel got us. My dogs both think highly curved tunnels are a bit scary. My trainer said afterwards that I got too far ahead of her and stopped at the tunnel and then she stopped. I tried again and again (shouldn't have) then ran past it. Then Summer had lost steam. I think it was just a lot. End of the day on the second day and she was pooped. I think if I hadn't botched the tunnel she wouldn't have lost speed though.

But they were happy and stayed with me the entire time. No freak outs or anything, no saying hi while they were working, no panic attacks. It was a good time but I am pooped. I worked most the time I was not running.

What good girlies!!

I think this week shall be a week of handling in circles. Today Payton was trying to cross in front of me. ??? That's a new one. WTF. I guess his forward drive is improving because he kept trying to cut in front of me to get to a jump off to the right. Great, Payton, just great. Invent a new bratty problem I have to try and fix less than a week before the trial. I think he's trying to figure out how he can make the biggest possible idiot out of me.

YAY! Congrats, Cali and Laurelin!

And I love Savvy. I really do. Roust and Whimsy look fantastic!

Kimma and I got her first QQ in Excellent today! Shame it won't count towards her MACH LOL. This was only her first time in Excellent JWW and her second time in Excellent Standard. We were in an indoor venue we've never been to before (I actually only entered very last minute because of that, and the president of the agility club hosting it told me there were still runs available).

She was a bit stressy and therefore slow, but she never stopped to sniff/roll (she LOVES rolling in turf LOL). I'm learning that until I can get her to run in trials the way she does at class/the place I teach classes at, I'm going to just start with her versus leading out. Seemed to definitely help today. Now we have a couple of months off from trialing to work on speed/confidence boosting. VERY proud of my girl!!!

Congrats to everyone! I love having so many people to root for on weekends when I don't get to go trialling. I always look forward to hearing how people did!

Now...who wants to road trip to Cynosport next year? I knew it was going to wind up being way out west, and I'm so bummed. I don't know if I could make myself fly with Gusto, and I also don't know if I could do a four day drive each way. I really wanted that to be my big goal for next year. Oh well. 2015, maybe.

Yeah really like her a lot and I overheard a lot of people talking about how much they liked her.
, that's awesome! Glad you had a fun judge, and congrats on a great first trial!

Well with only 12 weeks of 1 hour classes Diesel didn't totally suck at his first trial lol. He got 5 point in extreme games Gators and would have gotten something in numbered hoopers and jumpers if I hadn't screwed up. All in all it was a great weekend, a wonderful e learning experience and I can't wait to do more classes and attend more trials!

We're off to my house tonight to take video of all the Trkman foundation exercises I can manage. Since I'm STILL not moved into my house (and I don't even wanna talk about it) we haven't been able to do a lot of the things I wanted, including actually participating in the class I spent a lot of money to be a participant in. So I'm going to make a point of trying to video as much as possible and post it all to try and get some feedback in this, our final week of class. And at least get some of my money's worth, because right now I paid a TON of money for... a DVD and some additional tips and videos.

Sigh.
