I'm sure it's been mentioned or checked out, but it bears repeating. Have you had Cohen evaluated by a rehab vet or anything to ensure she's not sore or lacking in strength. Often we blame dogs for being lazy or doing things on purpose when really they are hurting and just too stoic for us to really notice.

I would like to minimize my need for taking steps but this kind of lateral distance and calmly listening is new. Plus he collected into the weaves instead of needing to start from a stilled position, Good boy

Thank you! I want to not need such a far step from the third(you can't see the second) jump but he's having trouble committing and not turning too sharply before the third without it. However, I'm very happy with this, it feels *really* good to see progress with this hard-to-do dog. (Even my trainer laughed in frustration Tuesday at him and she's his biggest supporter lately) He couldn't manage the two jumps laterally if I was at the outside jump standard of the third Tuesday, the step forward is slightly cheating but I needed it, now to proof back.

You guys are doing wonderfully. It's (normally) just a matter of time before the brains come in. He's going to be a hell of a lot of fun to run when the two of you get going.

Re: jumping issues. Thanks for all the helpful hints. I'll have to keep an eye out for a deal on some jumps if I can find it. Unfortunately I just bought a new house, so money is tight. I'm trying to be moderate in my dog spending, and my husband is being very understanding but ... buying some personal jumps and dropping by a sports vet for a once-over will probably have to wait a few months until things have normalized a bit. I don't *think* Cohen is in any discomfort, but I can't say that for sure, given how she keeps hitting jumps with her rear legs. I *think* it's because of the flyball work we've done, encouraging her to go flat and fast, but...

This evening I can post my jump plans for you. If PVC is cheap where you are and you have a hacksaw, you can make jumps cheap and easy! The most expensive part of my jumps is that I finally broke down and bought some jump cup strips, since I have multiple dogs who all jump different heights now. But for a long time when it was just Auggie, I just used a clip-on jump cup I made by cutting up a PVC T connector.

Fly ball is notorious for messing up agility jumping style, I didn't read all of the jumping posts yet but I can find some 20$/per jump plans for PVCs if you're interested.
