I work in a photography shot and the 2 best point and shoots are by far the canon S95 (new version canon s100) and panasonic LX5. Great in low light and good for action as well as macro.

To be honest, the ZS 3/5s were better than the new ZS10s... Much better low light on the older version. I don't much care for the newer versions...

They have a lot of zoom and manual mode which works fine but are not good in low light or not so great lighting conditions.

They use 2 AAs as well.

The Canon point and shoots are definitely the most popular out of all our cameras and people with Canon P&S' tend to go for another canon te next time around.

Some how I missed this when you posted it! Many of my photos were/are taken with the zs3. I've always liked that photo in your sig line and how cool it was taken with my fave point & shoot I have a dSLR now but...well it's so big! I'm not sure I'll ever be able to like it the way I like my pocketable cameras, although I've gotten some great shots out of it.

I bought a zs10 and...eh. I like the zs3 better. I'm probably going to sell the zs10 and get another zs3 or possibly a zs6. The zs10 has some cool features but I'm not loving the in camera processing or effects of the increased MPs. And the real deal breaker for me with it, is that the recording sound at concerts is not as good as that of the zs3 (although the video is beautiful, even better than the zs3).

My zs3 is still functional, although I'm admittedly pretty hard on my little cameras. It's zoom has a bit "sticky" and sometimes gets an error because it doesn't retract Probably from all the mud and sand the dogs have kicked up on it over time Michiyo-Fir - any suggestions for that? My first Elph lasted I think 3 years and looked like it had gone through a war - oneof my friends saw it one day and asked "what happened to your camera?!". Well the tape holding it together is from when I fell on the ice and landed on it and the case popped apart and the various scratches and dents are from it living in my pocket for years and being dropped and....LOL It actually still works but has a cracked LCD and that was a good excuse to upgrade. My husband replaced the LCD on the zs3 last year for me because it got cracked, although the replacement LCD isn't quite as nice as the original.

Whatever you get . Get lithium batteries. They will last longer than the cheap ones. About 15 buck for two here but the would last my old Kodak for months. I took close to 100 pics a day ofvths kids with it. Defiantly worth it as the regular copper tops would go in a couple days.
