Default Does my puppy sleep too much?
My almost 8 week old puppy sleeps constantly! I know that puppies are babies and that they need a LOT of sleep. I'm just frequently surprised by how pooped she is after virtually no exercise or activity.

Even first thing in the morning when she should have (or so I thought) pent up energy to burn, she still gets out of her crate, gets some water, has a pee and then sleeps around for ages.

She is basically always laying down or sleeping. She'll play when we play with her, and once or twice a day she'll get pretty wound up (running, biting) for about 10 minutes. But other than that she's snoozing.

Yes, I am a paranoid puppy mom! I know that! I'm sure this is perfectly normal, I just want to hear it from other people. Worst case scenario I'll just mention it to one of the vets at work and see if they have any concerns.

I know, I know! I can't help it, I'm paranoid! This is my first puppy and I'm worried that she's like...OVERLY lethargic. Not bragging!

When we brought Keira home she mostly slept as well. Unless she's acting lethargic or anything, I wouldn't worry at all. Young puppies sleep a lot - enjoy it while it lasts! At 8 months, now it's a cause for celebration when Keira finally decides it's nap time, lol.

Lucky you! I have three (yes, three) puppies under the age of 6 months old. I swear they NEVER sleep! LOL

My puppy slept a lot as well. She's a year old and is still sleeping/lying around for a majority of the day.

What breed is the pup?
