My extremely short handstand contribution. First time we've worked on it in a week or so.

Can Mu come live with me? Please? PLEASE? PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE????

Do you have a goal for the pivot work? I would see if you can get her to swing her back end around it pivot all the way into heel position, then gradually make the pivot stand smaller and smaller until you can fade it all together. What about having her switch over to pivot to the other side?

Or...you could just send her to me. Forever.

And no fair to all you handstand people! I want a handstand dog, but I think it would be unsafe to try something like that with my school bus of a dog.

OMG - I was actually *just* thinking how adorable and cute Frodo would look doing a handstand.

I don't think I could handle the cuteness it would produce. So, it is possibly a good thing you are not able to do it lol

Taqroy - I taught Quinn pivot work to teach her heel. It worked really well and taught her to find the position really independantly.
I went from where you are to staying still and waiting for her to find my side on either side, pivotting around from side to side on her own.

Keeping changing what you use for a target so she doesn't get too dependant on the one item and then you can faze it down to a flat peice of paper and then fade out completly.

Savvy's handstand. We had some technical difficulties at first because this is the first time I've worked in this spot with him. The shape of the couch was making it hard for him to get his back legs up, so I had to go to a board. Then the blanket I put on the floor in hopes of helping him get better traction was working against him. But once we got through that, he did really well! He pushed off the board partially once and then all the way at the very end.

I just want to say I love Snipe and her behavior reminds me so much of Eve!

I am going to try the handstand thing for strengthening Eve as well. She's making progress with the sit pretty, which is the hardest behavior I've taught her so far! lol

Snipe thanks everyone for their love, though she may be getting a slightly inflated sense of herself already!

Nope you cannot haz. I think Frodo would be greatly unamused at The Mu coming into his house anyway...although I'd kind of like to see how they'd get along LOL.

So - PW and mrose_s - should I stand still and click her for hind end movement? I understand what you guys are saying, I'm just trying to picture the process. I really like the idea of using pivot work to find heel - our heeling could use massive amounts of work.
