So cool! I love old dog photos, I've started collecting pictures of ES/farm collie type dogs from the early-mid 1900s - not quite as old as these but still cool! Got this pair last week - couldn't believe how much this dog looks like Quinn/Quinn's relatives. The similarity is just uncanny. This is from the 50s.

that is the kind of bourdeaux that was used to make the dogo argentino. for comparison here are the dagger "pit bulls" that had bourdeax crossed in in the late 1980s

Schipp on the right's name made me laugh.
![]() It seems like around the 1930s-1940s most breeds became a lot more 'typey' (if that's the right word). Looking through these pics and other pics in the past it seems there was a pretty major change around that time period for a lot of breeds. It's really unusual looking at the fox terriers. They look very JRT through the 20s then suddenly they look like the modern fox terrier.

Amazing isn't it? How some breeds were so different from what we see now...

Wow - amazing photos! I LOVE old pictures, but particularly when it comes to dogs. I'd love to purchase a really neat old photo and have it framed. Those longer legged corgi's are awesome. Some really cool pictures!
@SitStay - where do you purchase your photos, if you don't mind me asking? I have to say that, in general, I prefer the looks of older dogs than today's.

When I was at collie nationals last year they had a TON of old collie photos for sale. I'm kind of kicking myself now for not buying some. They were really cool.

This was very interesting to look at. I do say, I prefer Poodles how they are now, I'm not much a fan of corded breeds / coats.
Look forward to more pictures!
