People always ask what breed my Max is and when I say he's an Anatolian Shepherd they have no idea about this breed. Here's a video:

my neighbors HAD an anatolian. He was a great dog, very loving, and great with kids. They got him as an adult, and he marked in the house a few times... so they tied him up outside and would just feed and water him. after a few months of it he started digging holes and barking all the time. he ended up biting one of the kids (i think he was over stimulated and excited and ment no harm!)
They put him down a few days ago and i was devastated. people are so stupid. I love anatolians

That is so sad about your neighbor's dog.
Sounds like they needed lessons on training a dog; it wasn't the dog's fault. Max is our first Anatolian and we love him soooooo much! |

i told them to leave a leash on him in the house and watch him. to correct him right before he does it.
but she replied with "how can i do that and take care of the house and watch all the kids?" i told her about putting him in a crate, she said it was mean... and then they went out and got a german shepherd puppy... the next day! you dont see many anatolians in my area, but I am pretty sure there is one i see running loose on the country side sometimes when i go out to visit dad

I had been interested in this breed before I got my Lilu. I still am interested, and in the future may find myself getting one.
