That's just a stunning looking dog. Out of curiosity was this pup the result of a linebreeding or was he outcrossing?

It's funny what can crop up sometimes. I remember years ago working with a lady with a really extensive linebreeding of blue rex rabbits that she had been working with for 20+ years and suddenly she had a pointed one crop up. She had never owned a californian marked rabbit - never had one in the barn but there he was. She went back in her paperwork to the original 8 animals she purchased and there it was. 4th generation back a single californian colored animal.

Beautiful, I saw this and immediately wondered if that breeding is any relation to the catahoula / lurchers I saw worked in Idaho but i guess that was a good 15 years ago...

no relation.
i used to have contact info for a guy in NV w/a bit of that blood in his stags. when i was the Public Affairs NCO for the recruiting station Salt Lake, i tried to stop & see Larry on the way back from an event in MT. i couldn't get a hold of him. |

clarification from Joe
he added catahoula 20 years ago (10 gens) & has been trying to get a harlequin w/o giving up performance for 14 years |
