i know a lot of you guys vaccinate much differently, farther apart from each shot than the regular dog owner. i'd like to know some more about this!
i've known a lot of people, my own family included, who have done this, and heard some of the reasoning behind it as well, but i'm more looking for something i can read as evidence so that if the time ever comes, i have some solid ground to stay on if i need to discuss it with anyone regarding my own dog. |

I follow American Animal Hospital Association vaccine guidelines (https://www.aahanet.org/library/caninevaccine.aspx).
This means I do puppy vaccines, an annual booster at 1 yo, then vax every three years; this pattern is for core vaccines only unless I'm in a high risk area for something non-core (i.e. lepto). I also try to space the combo vax at least 3 weeks apart from rabies vaccines on my vet's recommendation.

Here's some light reading on the topic
http://www.eskievet.com/Articles/vaccine%20duration.pdf As far as what vaccines I do. I follow the law concerning rabies vaccines. As for the rest I give them a puppy series and then will be doing shots again at 7 years old. I never give lyme, lepto, or KC vaccines.
