Grr along with an awwww!
My grandmother and her friend, Karon, started/help start the Atlanta Aussie Kennel Club (or something like that, I don't remember the exact name but that is close to it) and Karon has had/breed Aussies for years. My grandma got out of it a few years ago but still loves the breed. Anyways, Karon came to surprise my dad and grandma today. Dad got a black tri male Aussie. Grandma got a black tri female Aussie. Both are 10 weeks old. (they will be altered when the time is right.) I am very grrr but excited for them. I wanted one, but know I have to wait til April. That's the grrr part. Daddy should be putting pics up on FB soon, so when he does I can smother yall with Aussie puppy pics

I know! I was so jealous, I must admit lol
Karon is probably the lady I will get an Aussie puppy from. I know her, I trust her, she does great work with her dogs, they also herd her sheep and horses, she lives on a farm so they DO what they were bred for but she also does some conformation/agility/obedience. Plus she does every health test known to man. A big thing for me about getting one from her is I trust her and I have known her almost my whole life (be 21 next month, known her since I was about 6-7 yrs old). So trusting someone plus doing everything that I want and what they should do by the breed, is great. |

April cannot get here fast enough for me to get a puppy, hopefully Karon will have puppies or she will know someone who does about that time.

I do not mean to be a downer. But. They herd her horses? I've always been taught that this a big no no. Maybe Zoom or RD could come and shed more light on the subject? I just thought that has always been a big don't do type of thing.

They don't really herd them, they kind of make sure they go into their correct stall. They don't stalk them or nip at them. They just help Karon to make sure they don't go into each others stalls. For example: Her male Aussie sits at Karon's feet and if one of the horses starts getting "frisky" her male Aussie will bark to kind of get their attention. If that makes sense. |
