Beautiful!!!! I love planted tanks. I haven't tried one yet. Mine's kind of on the other spectrum from yours, but here it is:

Lol!

Beautiful tank!

I have a 20L planted right now, I'll take some pics of it when I get home. We are battling a horrid outbreak of hair algae right now though so I've had to take a lot of plant out.

I decided to setup another tank, done 11th Dec 2011. It is still a bit cloudy from setup as filtration hasnt been added as yet, canister should be on it today (adding media from another filter to give it a kickstart)

Still a work in progress, so will develop some more yet.

Feel free to give me idea on livestock (not rummy's or neons).

(i just found the pet section down the bottom, feel free to move the thread if its in the wrong place)

Your tanks are insanely gorgeous.

I'm going to be starting a planted tank some time this month. I'm really excited--I've never tried to do anything with aquatic plants before.

I like the low light/maintenance plants, most will go into higher light systems if needed

It can be frustrating if you done chose the right plants for the right lighting situation though (not to mention expensive)

Best plants for newcomers (i still use these quite a lot)

Java fern -hardy as anything, self propagates too, so you get new plants to scape with
Crypt Wendtii - Another self propagator, also quite hardy
Java moss - Can be invasive, but looks great if kept trimmed and tidy
Peacock moss - Looks awesome
Anubias - Various leaf shapes, slow grower and is tough as boot leather!

You'll find it hard to go wrong with any of the above. Looking forward to see your tank!

I love planted tanks. I have a few low techs and a high tech with DIY C02. Something so magical about a nicely done planted tank - a glimpse into another world very, very removed from ours

Wow, lovely! I wish I had the time/dedication for a tank like that... but my skills don't extend beyond setting up a pretty little tank for a Betta LOL

Those are awesome! I did some cool vivs for my geckos and a few of my tarantulas with live plants and whatnot, but I never tried to do anything too extensive with aquatic plants. Now I want to try it!
