i'm joking of course. My wife is a thousand times more forgiving than me, but i still like to tease her.

I brought home a dog for training, it's been almost 2 years now You could always try that route.

You guys have no idea how funny this was to come home to read

And I too have done that RTH. Enzo is still here, three years later

I agree with the foster thing--let experience what it is like to have the dog the mix and go from there. As far are your absences, long are you typically gone? Can your kids help?

DH had a hard time getting Jack to respect (or often even acknowledge he was addressing him) during Jack's adolescence. He loves the dogs, but not in a super hands in way other than playing with them. I ended up signing Jack up for obedience class and having DH handle him during class and that really helped.

If you are only gone for a few weeks at a time you could always tell her to just put her bug girl panties on and deal with (and let me know how that works for you-lol). Seriously though, there have been occasions-after I had my appendix out it was a 6 week period-where DH (who grew up in the city and is NOT a horse person) took care of my horse like a trooper....sometimes in marriage we just gotta do those things.

The only pet DH could really get that might be an issue for me is a snake. If he really wanted one I would still let him get it, but he would have to find a snake sitter for when he was gone for business, because I just can't do snakes....

I am so lucky to be single

Well, wait -- luck had nothing to do with it, I know when to say "No."
