In addition to Elsie, I also have a 55gal fish tank, with Endler's guppies, peppered cories, and Rivulus hartii. The yellowness in my fish photos is due to the lighting in our dinning room.
![]() ![]() ![]() I also am bringing home a mantis today, and have her tank set up:

Thank you!
To make up for the whirlwind that is Elsie, it seems like all of my other pets have to be basically invisible. ;] |

BEAUTIFUL tank! I looove the sand substrate. I want to switch to sand in my tanks pretty soon here.
What a cool mantis! I didn't even know people kept them!

And thanks! Yeah, they're pretty popular (for insects). She's from a guy in my Entomology class--he breeds them. She's native to this area, though, and is (probably) mated, so I may have about ten bajillion mantids soon. |

I <3 Endlers. Someday when I have the time and space I will have a tank again, and I will have Endlers, even though last time I had a tank they were impossible to find!

I also did not know people kept Mantis! Learn something new all the time, love the fish tank, I miss having fish, just don't have time to do right by them these days...
Out of curiosity, what will you do with a bazillion mantid!? LOL |

I love them too! I work in a laboratory, and so they're 'leftovers' from work. You might try finding out if anyone in your area has extra Endlers--they breed like crazy. :3 Quote:
Luckily, the species I have is native to my area, so I can release the babies into my garden (assuming they don't hatch until they're supposed to). If they accidentally get too warm, I'll have to separate them out and see if anyone wants them. Otherwise they'll eat each other, and I'll have a mass slaughter on my hands. |
