I guess none of you noticed my first post regarding rehoming dogs where I mentioned "The Fila puppy aside." I wasn't talking about rehoming dogs in relation to this Teal situation, I was talking about in general. So no, you "just stop".

I can also say that I have not liked a puppy in my care. When Shiva first came, she was a nightmare. And by 'nightmare', I mean '4 month old puppy who has been a a shelter for a month already, has learned that biting hard gets you what you want, is smart as the devil and might have been sired by him, and has no impulse control whatsoever. Also has a scream that could put an Irish Banshee to shame.'. Still, I kind of felt for her.
Then Argon had his stroke, and I was yanked between their two needs. Suddenly I had two unhousetrained dogs, one who was vomitting constantly, one who had the constant runs (yay Science Diet). The difference was, one was my heart dog and the other was the interloper who regularly drew blood on me, not out of meanness, but because she didn't know any better. I didn't like her. Yes, I will go as far as to say that interacting with her was hard and I didn't want to. If I could have sent her back to the shelter, I would have. But I had to do it. I had to pick her up, and hold her, and leash train her, and teach her to go outside to potty. Yes, I was smiling though clenched teeth while I was praising her, but I did it. When it comes to a puppy or a baby, you have to fake it till you make it. If you know you can't make it, then a rehome is fine, but you better be a darn good faker until you get there. Because neglect kills. Maybe not outright, but you can end up with an animal who is so damaged that it can't function in a home, and ends up PTS. Neglect is will destroy an animal faster then abuse will. So I wouldn't judge someone for saying they dont' like a puppy. It doesn't make you an evil person to not feel that instant adoration, or even adoration after a few weeks. It took me three weeks before I was able look forward to seeing Shiva and actually enjoy having her. Four weeks in, she leaves in two days and I wish I could halt the adoption and keep her for myself. But I do understand what it's like to hear the puppy whimper in the middle of the night, or look over and find it staring at you and just thin 'please God, no. Please make it go away, because I cant deal with it right now. I hate it and I've made a terrible mistake.'

How is a revolving door for dogs better? I honestly don't think it is. No matter where you get a dog, especially in this case from a breeder you are responsible of taking care of that dog's needs. Even if the dog doesn't work out, basic care shouldn't be hard because you don't mesh well with the dog. It's really saddening what this pup went through and I am glad he is in a good home that is able to care for him properly.

I wasn't talking about her other dogs... I was talking about the idea that rehoming dogs is somehow bad...
Are you guys really that bad at comprehending typed words?

However, treating dogs like playthings that can be thrown away whenever you like, is. And, of course, the fact that this IS obviously getting worse and worse, since she starved the last dog.

I'm asking Barbara because I figure she probably won't be coming back here but since you are her friend I thought maybe you have spoken to her and received an explanation.
