i think this woman is far above me..in the portrait dept! Look at the refections in that boxer's eye.and the sensitivity of the chin! .i am afraid i am what my mother calls a jack of all trades and expert at none..sigh..that is a beautiful portrait truly!

Hi guys!
Podengo painting was a special story about which I couldn´t writte before because I was waiting for owner to get it. When I was working (well still am) on showing my work and started painting again I looked for pictures of dogs. One was sent to me by groenendael (belgian sheepdog breeder) who also owned a podenco Chiquitta which passed away in january. The dog looked interested to me and I made a painting (you can see it in begining of this thread if you are reading for first time). I planed for painting to stay at my home on my wall but than daughter of this breeder called me and became interested in painting to give it to her mother for birthday (For those who think it is simple to give painting away, money goes but painting stays.. so I have hard time selling them). Than I agreed and sent the painting to her, for a month I could not tell "the future owner" anything, especialy not if she would want to buy it. Well finally time passed and here is link to letter her daughter sent me. I translated it from swedish, I cry every time I read it.. I feel soo good someone loves my work so much. http://pet-art.net/galleries_oil_chiquita.htm Bye, Katja |

I once had a teacher, kate Russell from the royal academy of art in England. She asked us Who do you make your art for..and of course the proper answer was for yourself..but..i can't think of a better reward then to have someone genuinely love your work. Art is so much more then making money. At least to me each piece is a part of me..what i consider to be some of the best i have to give. Making someone feel like that is the best compliment an artist can get. I am happy for you Katja. I am thinking if i can save up i would like a very small piece of my Victor. It will take me awhile tho, probably Spring. I have some questions, i know you are busy but if i can i would like to ask how you learned about shipping to different countries and a few other things..i will pm you if that is ok.
