Clipper coolant

I have seen now several times that you aren't supposed to use clipper coolant on your clippers. I am getting curious as to why you aren't supposed to and what you are supposed to use instead for hot blades. Cause when I went to school I was supposed to use clipper coolant if you can afford it or alcohol and the alcohol was discourage cause it wrecked you blades. So I am curious about this school of thought why not use clipper coolant?

Because coolant makes your blades much much drier IME which makes the blades and your clipper drive wear faster. It's far better to clean your clipper blades well between grooms with a dip wash, lube the blades with clipper oil , and switch out as you clip if the need arises.

For every two cans of coolant you could have purchased another blade instead.
