To me any time from now coz they are not to old to look after there off spring and not to young to know whats going on.
When we breed my male dog to my mums best mates female, she was just turned 3 years old and she was a brilliant mum so really any time now!!! Hope that helped!!!  Ps now i have the puppy they had and he is 4 months old and he's my baby boy hes called Lucky(yelloe lab)!!

I'll back Serena's brilliant posts all the way. There really is no need to add to all of the already poorly bred Golden Retrievers. It is hard raising just one puppy, what would you do with a possible five or more?
Do the breed a huge favor and have your dog spayed.
