A LOT of pits I know have "happy tail" from hitting their tails on crate walls and furnature. This definately could be why this dog's tail was docked, because he'd gotten a bad case of happy tail.

Could be dane/pit, I think boxer/pit is more likely.

The head may be off, but structurally, the body looks very much like a boxer...very much Like Gavroche. Maybe some Americna Bulldog? (the leaner ones, like Chance from Homeward Bound, not the stocky ones)

I don't see any dane...

Rott pitt mix? Pit mix for sure and I totally agree that his tail could have been docked for happy tail especially docked at that length with the lack of hair growth on the end.

While his ears do remind me of a Dane, Dane's ears are cropped to stand like that.

I, too, saw Pit right off the bat. Whoever mentioned Cane Corso wasn't crazy. Although it didn't come to mind, as soon as it was mentioned, I could see it. Maybe Pit/Cane Corso/Boxer?The big question is, tho, how common are Cane Corsos in the area he's from? I'm just starting to see them here in NJ.
