52 Weeks has motivated me :D

I used to adore photography. But I've been so frustrated with my crappy-ass camera that I haven't really done much.

BUT...the 52 Weeks of Chazhound Dogs has motivated me to start doing stuff again. That, and the fact that I discovered features my camera doesn't have, and I'm starting to actually learn how to make my camera do what I want it to. And I just bought a year subscription to Picnik so that I can actually edit my photos (some day I want Photoshop, but for now, Picnik is cheap and easy). I'm going through the thousands of photos on my computer and editing some of them. Most of these are between 1 and 4 years old but some are more recent. I need to get some of the older ones off my other laptop some day.

I have also promised myself that if I can make myself do this for a few months, I can get a cheap DSLR...I found one for around $150 on Amazon. Which is LESS than I paid for my current point-and-shoot. Bleh.

So...Peektures! Hopefully they'll get better as I get used to using my camera to its full potential. These photos are pretty much just experimenting with Picnik, because I'm bored lol. The last three are 52 Weeks photos and I stuck them in here because I'm in love with them :P.

I need to find somewhere other than Tinypic to upload stuff. It seems like it makes them quite a bit lower quality once they're uploaded. For example, Logan's eye looks very pixellated to me here, but on my computer it's not at all. Meh.

You can use Gimp to edit your photos if you don't want to pay for Photoshop. It has most of the same stuff and is completely free. And there's tons of tutorials on how to do stuff in it. It's pretty much the only thing I use.

Using GIMP never occurred to me...I use it for drawing and logos, but never photo editing. I'll have to check that out!
