Guys, the main idea is to challenge -yourself- with these photos. Don't fret yourself over voting. Lots of us are taking part and we all have different cameras and skill levels. Do something YOU haven't tried before, and push the envelope a little every week. Don't stress over how "good" everyone else is.

We're all in this for a fun challenge. That's it.

Thanks for that, Allie. It's something I'm thinking about as we're doing this, to be honest. I love having the calendar idea, but voting for the best is taking a lot of the fun out this for me.

I took a bunch of photos today, but I'm not thrilled with any of them. It doesn't help at all I have no editing programs for a mac. I guess I could download something, but I miss photoshop

Don't stress! I really wasn't fond of my photo last week - but I took it and I submitted it, and I'm sticking to the challenge! We won't all have great weeks, but it's fun to play with photography and see what you can do.

Have you got iPhoto on yours? I don't use it much, but it does seem to do quite a few things. I'm sure there are more involved programs that go with it, but I know sometimes you have to do with what's at hand.

I have iphoto, but it doesn't really do much. It's fine for basic editing, but I don't believe you can layer or anything, so you can't edit part of a photo but not all of it (like raising the saturation of certain colors but leaving the rest of the photo alone). Plus, I know how to use photoshop fairly well...I just miss it.

I had a great idea but for now we're snowed in. I may have to improvise!

And yes, I agree it's about challenging yourself and nothing else. So far it really has helped me come up with new ideas (I think). The eye challenge was so hard for me and Mia's dark eyes but I really liked the way it turned out.

I'm not too keen on the voting to be honest but oh well.

This is how I feel as well. I've been doing this every week to challenge myself, and the voting just adds stress and takes the fun away.

I'm not voting. I don't think that's what the project is about.
