Default Food/eating problem

I previously posted about Brady bringing his bowl into the living room and carrying it around. Well, now he is being weird with his food. He would eat it like he loved it before and now he is being so weird about it. He has barely touched it lately until he gets hungry and he eats some. Last night he brought a mouthful into the living room and dumped it in the floor. I gave him some this morning which he has eaten a little, but just now i caught him violently trying to dump his bowl over. I don't know what is going on. Do you think he is a finicky eater or he likes variety? He would not eat his last food after a while, so I gave him somethign new, and he has been on this for about 4 months or longer and really liked it before. I can't figure it out. he acts like he feels fine so far, and he was running around the back yard playing with me earlier like he always does. I don't know whether to switch again or just see what happens.

OK he just ate the breakfast portion but he ate some from the bowl and then brought some over to the carpet and ate it and then ate some more from the bowl and then brought some to the carpet again. I then gave him his dinner portion when he finished and he did the violet bowl turn over again and I had to pick up the food he dumped and place it back in again.

Truthfully, I think Brady's playing with your head. Put his food down when you usually do, and if he hasn't eaten it in 15 minutes or so, or if he dumps it, pick it up and put it away. Offer it to him again when you get home from work, or at lunch if you get home for lunch. If he doesn't eat it, or dumps it again, same drill. Pick it up and put it away. By dinner time he WILL eat the food, unless he's just going to try to be more stubborn than you. Don't let the little beggar win this one. He'll eat the next day, although he may still try the dumping bit. If he does, put it back in the bowl, give him one more chance to eat, and if he does it the second time - POOF! you make it disappear until later.

Brady sounds like a real character! He's going to keep you amused and confused a lot, I'll bet. How many times have you found yourself looking at him and saying, "Why, WHY do you do that?"

Many many times. I honestly think he is trying to get me to wonder what he is doing. As i am even typing this he is sniffing behind my back in this chair because there is a sweater lying behind me and he is trying to see if he can get it to get my attention.

Now he just went downstairs and I hear my husband saying "Brady, no" and I heard Brady bark at him. He is VERY strong willed sometimes, but he does know when he is in trouble and he lays low.

He is not in trouble now, he is just being feisty, so that is why he keeps at it. you know, he starts to act up sometimes when he has not seen Jenny in a few days, but they went out of town this weekend, and it was raining Thursday so he didn't get to see her. But I think you are right about the food thing, I am going to start taking it away from him if he does not eat within 15 minutes.
