Default If anyone was wondering what the welsh language sounds like...

It's this:

YouTube - Jill Evans ASE - hyrwyddo bwyd lleol (Fersiwn Cymraeg)

Sounds like they have something stuck in their throat

My OH's 1st language was Welsh...... He speaks it on a daily basis. Very odd.

Some exciting text about bin collections (I think). Stole off the council website lol

Yn dilyn yr eira a'r rhew pan fethwyd chasglu biniau gwyrdd / biniau brown / bocsys glas mae'r gwasanaeth yn gweithio'n galed i ddal i fyny.

Mae casgliadau'r wythnos hon fel sydd wedi ei nodi ar y calendr:
Arfon: sbwriel t***375; (bin gwyrdd) ac ailgylchu (bocs glas)
Dwyfor: gwastraff bwyd a gardd (bin brown) ac ailgylchu (bocs glas)
Meirionnydd: sbwriel t***375; (bin gwyrdd) ac ailgylchu (bocs glas)

Rydym wedi llwyddo i gasglu o'r rhan fwyaf o lefydd yr wythnos hon. Os nad ydym wedi llwyddo i'ch cyrraedd, gadewch eich biniau / bocsys glas allan. Byddwn yn gwneud pob ymdrech i'w casglu gynted ag sy'n bosibl.

Fascinates me - as you may tell

I think it's mostly noise and letters rather than actual words..... Many welsh disagree with me

First of all, what is an "OH?" Other Husband :O

And wow, that language.... I'm glad it isn't a language I have to learn!

It's just such a weird language. And a distinct shortage of vowels going on.

I still hope to one day be able to learn Welsh dog commands for training my corgis.

That is just so weird! I love languages that have that feel to them, though. Welsh, German, Old English, Latin...pity I can't even get my brain to learn Spanish. ROFL

Sit: eistedd - pronounced - A-STeTH (a very short th - think like V)

Stay: Aros - ar-ros (you have to almost roll the r)

Come (here): tyd yma - Tim-ah (the y in tyd is almost pronounced UH, but not quite)

Roll Over : troy drosodd - troy drosoTH (short th think V again)

Okay, you have no idea how awesome it is you posted this. For some reason last week I went on a mystical quest to search out welsh and welsh accents, and my google-fu FAILED.

THANK YOU!

that's so cool - I've actually always wondered what welsh sounds like, given its severe vowel deficiency! It sounds sort of german-ish to me.
