How do you teach him to find the bathroom in a building where he's never been?

I assume he does it by smell. But I started off naming bathrooms whenever we've gone to one. Same with finding the car, finding home, and finding exits. I drove my dad's car several times over the last couple weeks, and the first time I drove it with Logan he found the car, even though it was a different car. Gavroche did too when I took him. So though I haven't specifically taught them to scent, I'm pretty sure that's how they do it. Public bathrooms don't exactly smell good I've heard stories of guide dogs not only being able to find the bathrooms, but to find the men's or women's bathrooms specifically, too, by scent.

LOL
Click + treat, and build up duration? Or stick a mat on the couch and teach him when he's on the mat, he has to sit down and shut up

I know! I can't believe it's already been 5 1/2 months, but even more so I can't believe how far he's come and what an amazing learner this dog is He's had a vest for a few months now. It's red and goes very well with his fur. I'll get some pictures of him in it one of these days. Actually hang on a minute and I'll go switch my avatar...
