Halloween

What's everyone dressing up as for Halloween? What about your kiddos?

I still dress up for Halloween....last year I had absolutely no money and dressed as Black Widow (from the Iron Man comics...at that point she wasn't in the movies). Which was easy and kind of boring and only like three people got it.

The year before I went as Elektra from the comic books. I'm trying to stray away from the comic book trend this year. That was a really cool, fun costume to put together, though.

This year, I have a sewing machine, so I'm pretty excited.

I'm not planning on dressing up this year. It's my first year in a neighborhood (lived in apartments out of college until now), so I'm excited to stay home and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters. I'm not planning on a party or anything since it's a work night.

The idea in my back pocket if we ever get invited to an awesome crazy costume party though is for my husband to be King Kong, me to be the girl in the white dress, and Lucy to be a banana. This whole idea is based around the fact that Lucy has a banana costume. I've never even seen King Kong.

Last year I was Fat Lady Gaga and Auggie was a vampire. This year I bought him a pair of bat wings from PetSmart to keep as a backup costume, but I hope to find the time to make him a shark costume. I thought I might dress up as a shark attack victim and he could be the shark.

Hyia is going as a zombie princess. We picked her makeup up and will do a thrift store search for the right dress. She wanted this big "bloody knife" where you hold it up and the blood runs up or down. No more care bears or disney princesses, we have entered the world of teen. I am so relieved. She thinks she is ready for her first haunted house, but I don't think so..not yet. Soon...but not yet. I would hate to get in there and have her totally freak. Going to take Victor's pic with that knife later this afternoon.

Oooh, new idea. Zach will be "Thing 1", I will be "Thing 2", and Lucy will be the Cat in the Hat. Then I just have to go to the thrift store and find red shirts and pants, and goofy blue wigs.

I've also always just wanted to paint a white stripe down Lucy's back, and call her a skunk. lol.

I love that idea. And the king kong one. We definitely need pictures.

I don't think I'm doing anything for halloween, sadly. I have a finished costume from last year I could do but NO ONE would get it. (Menolly from Anne McCaffrey's Pern series.)

I'm not sure yet. I wanted to be a flapper, however, Im going to go to Frankenstein's castle this year with a few friends, so I feel like I need to wear something a little bit more scary.

NOOOOOO, that's totally what I was going to do. XD I already got Finn a shark costume, hahaha.
