Default Bil Jac dog food

Has anyone here actually FED it? The ingredients are not the best, but the dogs I have seen on it look great. Also, the owners love it.
Thanks.

I tried it once because the dogs were a bit crackers about it and at that point was less picky about dog food. Teeth however in short time look HORRID, they also began to look greasy and smelled worse. Looking at the ingredients it does make one's stomach churn.

KEY INGREDIENTS:

Chicken, Chicken By-Products (organs only, source of arginine), Corn Meal, Chicken By-Product Meal, Dried Beet Pulp, Brewers Dried Yeast, Oatmeal and Flaxseed.

All of the dogs I've seen on Bil Jac look pretty nasty, and have excessive (4 or more times a day) and gross poos. And I work at a pet hotel in a store that sells it. It is not even close to worth the price.

The kibbles are odd and not palatable, too! D:

I fed it to Luna once when there was a glitch in the computer and the 8 (?) pound bag was only $1.99. She actually LOVED it and I didn't really notice any difference from her regular food at that time (Nutro). I know several people who feed it with GREAT results. I wouldn't feed it because it's way too expensive for what you get.

Never fed the dog food, but mine LOVE their nasty smelling liver treats.

I know of confo breeders with excellent results on the Bil Jac frozen.. Something with the cane molasses that seems to do great things for their coats, and picky eaters never say no to sugar..

That said like all dog food co's they are sketch. They crow about the wonderful ingredients in their faqs on the frozen site. Uh.. like cereal food fines? Sure.. That with the meat by product meal yum!

Their 'standard' kibble posted above looks like any other mediocre kibble that includes some sketch meat. Has less unpronounceable vitamins and other ingredients.. but it's still substandard too.

Oh yeah, the frozen stuff is supposed to be a HIGHLY valued treat to most dogs. I think I used it once at work, but it's hard to find around here. The liver treats taste - best as I can tell judging by the dogs' reactions - pretty much the same as the Authority liver treats (from Petsmart), and Authority is cheaper and easier to cut up... Bil Jac tends to crumble. Even Wal Mart has a liver treat that's almost the same as Bil Jac. Doesn't Bil Jac make the Gooberlicious treats, the peanut butter flavored ones? Dogs love those because there aren't a lot of soft, PB treats out there.

Yeah they make the gooberlicious ones too. Those and the liver treats I'll buy. Can't say I'd support their actual food at all. I really like the gooberlicious ones cause they break into bits to train with..

I've never fed it, nor would I recommend. The ingredients are crap, and I believe they use (or used in the past) BHA and BHT in their food/treats, which is a bad preservative.
