I've been gone awhile (lots going on here) but thought I'd pop in and say "Hi" since this is a collie post! I'll agree with what the others have posted, although energy level varies more from bloodline to bloodline ... there are a lot of couch potato Collies out there these days. (Thankfully not mine!)
Healthwise, your main concerns are eye problems (Collie Eye Anomaly and PRA), hip dysplasia, MDR1 (drug sensitivity) and hypothyroidism. Lizzy - pm me. I have a friend with a new litter of sable smooths, all DNA-ed CEA non-carriers and maybe MDR1 normal/normal too.

I don't need a couch potato. I just want less intensity than my working bred Malinois. Or rather, that's what my husband wants!

If you're used to a Mal, a dull Collie is going to be a HUGE disappointment.

My husband and I finally agreed that a Collie will be the next family dog. We are hoping to add a smooth male pup next spring/summer. Now, the hunt for puppy begins.
