Default Anyone heard of the Tom Rose school of dog training?

Is it a good or bad school? Does anyone know if I enroll what their policy is on what type of dog you're supposted to bring?

It's well thought of in certain fields like schutzhunde and ring sports along with Triple crown. Depending on what your goals are you should choose your school accordingly. They also need to be able to supply a record of successful students in their fields of choice. Tom Rose Academy can do that.

You should call them if you have questions. I've spoken with them before and they were very nice folks to speak with. They also have a vid series which might be worth ordering before heading out or paying tuition.

Meh, if I were looking for a training academy I would pick the Karen Pryor Academy waaaay above Tom Rose. Pat Miller's Internships would also rank much higher.

i'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you'll be hard pressed to find anyone that has real personal experience with any of the above mentioned schools, let alone experience with two or more so they can compare and contrast the different schools.

mostly people will regurgitate what they've heard someone else say on a message board much like this.

*Raises hand*

I spent a year at the Tom Rose School. I also worked with a Triple Crown graduate.

Jshsilver: what are you looking for? What do you want to do with dog training? Feel free to PM me for more info on the school.

LOL, CP . . . no, not for your hand.

Traditionally, when one goes out on a limb, the next thing one does is use a handsaw and cut off the limb. Don't you ever watch Roadrunner cartoons?

ROFL

Oh. Well, I still don't need the hand.
I haven't watched Roadrunner in about three decades.
