Default Johnny Walker... Abuse story

Ok I'm sorry if I put this in the wrong spot. just not sure exactly where something like this belongs.

I am cross posting this from another forum I am on.

This is the story of Johnny Walker and what has happened to him (I took out the contact info but you can still see it in the original posting that I will link to.

Quote:
Helping Jonny Walker

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm here because this is a site for animal lovers. Just 6 hours ago my dog that is loved by many people has just been really injured.

The story is, I had come home from work to find my dog laying on my porch with blood everywhere. I looked at him really closely to find he had been bleeding from the mouth. My neighbor came over and told me what had happened. He said that a 2 little boys and a girl had been messing with your dog, i asked what happen and he said that the girl called him over and the boy hit him in the face with an aluminum baseball bat.

Well Jonny is one of the nicest dogs I have every come across he is friendly to anyone. There was no reason to hurt him! I looked closely at him and noticed that his jaw was broken and he was missing teeth now. Nearly broke my heart.

I post this because If anyone can help it would be a blessing!

I took Jonny to the vet and they said normaly they won't admit him unless we have all the money up front and at them moment we don't. They said they would keep him over the weekend to make sure he is ok but we need to figure something out.

I come her to ask for help if possible by anyone. Any doniations would be very helpful into saving him. My contact information is 1-**********. I can give information to the vet clince if needed.

I thank you for any help you might give.

Thank you, Jason .
With the outpouring of love and support $3500 has been raised and JW had surgery yesterday. So far he is doing very well. they had to put a couple of plates in to keep his jaw together and remove a few extra teeth.

BUT we all want to get JW's story out there and as of now these "children" have no paid any price for this.

you can read the whole account here Helping Jonny Walker - Pet Talk (warning... there is a blurry photo of how Johnny walker was found after the beating he suffered)

The child who actually hit him repeatedly with the bat was picked up by the cops and taken to see Johnny Walker and see what he had done to him and apparently this sick "child" just smiled with satisfaction the whole time. This is a person that needs some serious psychological help. so many people are putting pressure on the sherrifs office and others to take some action.

Anyway... I just wanted to share this with all of you in hopes that we can at least get the word about Johnny out and how horrific abuse on these sweet creatures really is.

MODS feel free to move this to the appropriate place.

Thanks guys

I'm glad there is some action being taken. I just finished reading through the whole link.....I probably shouldn't have read it while I was at work, since it was very hard not to start crying. He looks like he's doing pretty well right now in the post-op pictures.

OH yeah I definitely should have warned about that. it is very hard to read through that link without shedding a tear or two or one hundred lol.

yes so far so good. He's been able to eat and seems to be comfortable. Before because of the breaks he couldn't even close his mouth all the way. his poor nose was tilted upwards so there was always that gap and his tongue would just stick out

he's such a cute pupper and seems like such a gentle soul he didn't do anything to provoke this

I can not even begin to understand why people would do such things--that poor dog.

He really is a cutie. No matter how many stories I read, I just can not fathom how cruel people can be to animals. At the same time, though, it is so heartwarming to read how many people jumped in to help this poor dog and enable him to get the surgery. I really hope he will be spoiled rotten for the rest of his life!

Default Johnny Walker

Hi, I am a technician from the Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center where Johnny Walker is currently being treated. I just wanted to inform you all that he is doing very well, eating like a champ and his vital signs are normal. While this will be an uphill battle for him, I know he appreciates all of your prayers and concerns. Thanks and God bless you all!

Thank you so much for joining us and giving us this first hand update.

We will definitely continue to keep him in our prayers. It's an uphill battle for him for sure but at least the abuse is over and now he's in the hands of such loving and caring individuals such as yourself and the others at this wonderful clinic.

yes I forgot to mention in my first post that JW also has heart worm and.... OH shoot I forget what the other was. I'll have to look it up.

so he does have a tough battle in front of him but he's a tough boy and he has a special purpose here on this earth I just KNOW it. We all have a lot to learn from him and this happening.

thank you again for posting and giving us an update

I hope the kid that did this gets the full 10 years. People that abuse animals this way usually commit other crimes against people and 10 years will give him a long time to think about what he did and hopefully change.

At this age, people can be turned around. I hope this kid gets some real help that will turn him around, otherwise we can count on him continuing to vent his anger and frustration on the world.
