Lets act to stop puppy mills

Hi everyone, I'm new here, and wanted to share this email that I've been sending to hundreds of rescue groups around the country. Hope that we can get this legislation passed!!!

Subject: Puppy Mill Legislation...Please ACT

Dear animal lovers,

Finally there is hope for us to do something about puppy mills. Two senators have introduced the Puppy Uniform Protection and Safety (PUPS) Act which will bring all dog breeders under the federal government's supervision. This legislation is going to require that all dog breeder to be licensed, inspected, and to adhere to certin rules. The new rules will make it more difficult for puppy mills to operate as usual. They need to walk every dog every day and these dogs will need to reach a running stride. Judging by the way the puppy mills operate, they will have a hard time to meet this ruling, and hopefully they can be closed (I have never met a puppy mills owner that was in shape, or who cared about exercising their dogs). Further, this legislation will deter others from opening new puppy mills. Those puppy mills that do stay open, will need to exercise all their dogs every day, which will improve the lives of those dogs tremendously.

What we, as concerned animal lovers, can do is get in touch with our Senators and representatives to let them know that we care about the PUPS Act and that we would like them to vote for it. Don't worry, ASPCA has set up the following web site where you can EASILY write in your name and address, and they will send an email to your representative automatically. It literally takes less than 1 minute to fill out and submit. Once you submit the email, you are taken to another page where you can donate to ASPCA and that's completely optional.

Please note that if more than one adult of 18+ age lives at your house, then all of you can send emails. So, fill out the form once for every person at your residence.

This opportunity many never knock on our doors, or it may be years before it does. Lets act by filling out the form at the below ASPCA site, and also, by forwarding this email to all of our friends, relatives, family, co-workers, and people on our mailing lists. If we don't act to pass this legislation, thousands upon thousands of puppy mill dogs will be severely abused year after year, and millions of dogs and cats will be euthanized at the shelters every year (5 million dogs and cats are euthanized every year). So, lets do our part and lets fight for the betterment of these love bugs who need us to be their voices. Thank you!

Oh, yah. Just what we want . . . for the federal government to have more say so in our lives and over our pets.

H$U$ and PETA must love this little piece of legislation -- heck, they probably helped write it.
