Okay. Is it bad that ALL of mine are, in their various ways, like that?

And that all the dogs I've had have been?

I don't think I even know how to think about them as "difficult" or "problems" or "hard." It's just the way they are and that's how I like them. I don't know that I ever want an "easy" dog.

I will admit I am slightly worried that my next dog won't be enough of a challenge after Mia. I don't know that I could settle for any less either.

Then go for a Fila, lol . . . you won't be disappointed. The antics will be different, but you'll never be bored

Mia is kinda like having a tiny, hairy APBT with big ears in a lot of ways -- except for the not liking people right away.

^^THIS^^

I did not find Teagan overly hard. Thank God as she was my first dog that I trained and raised on my own. But she also was not easy in anyway. I feel very accomplished by how far we got together with her training and her training me

We learned alot from each other. Tyler and I sure learned alot from her.

She just has the most amazing personality and spunk. Well she is a Terrier Terrorist And I always get so happy and proud when I get praise about how well she is trained or how good she is. Because we got that far together.

Yeah, I agree. Don't get me wrong, Auggie is a little ****. But I like it that way. It's why I'm seeking out another one that is likely to be an even bigger little ****.

Either that or because I'm crazy. Maybe both.

I liken her to a little imp a lot. She's an ornery girl.

Same reason the "good girls" in school always fall for the bad boys, I guess.

Yeah, Lucy is a firecracker. This dog:
  • Opens latched doors
  • Opens cabinets
  • Counter surfs like it's her job
  • Figured out how to open the foot pedal trash cans that latch shut
  • Opened the pantry (and ate all the chocolate chips)
  • Climbs fences
  • Undermines every bit of training I try to teach her (oh the unwanted behavior chains she has...)

But I love her for it. She's such a challenge--I would be so bored with a dog that didn't make me think!

Laur, Ivan is my Mia. I like him that way. Although he could be just slightly less intense at times. BUT the family isn't to fond of him being the way he is. The hubby is afraid to get another dal in fear that it will be just like Ivan.

I'd be happy to settle for less challenge (ie, no fear aggression!) but, Abby is still a challenge in a lot of other ways... I have always said I liked to think outside the box and problem solve. She was more than I had bargained for lol. But yes, in the end I realise that I do enjoy the relationship that comes from being challenging. I love her independence and the way I have change my approach and think about what I am doing. I'll admit it used to frustrate me a bit and I used to get frustrated at my inability, but now I thrive on this.
