Default Stray semi feral kitten

Wandered up into my yard. I think its a girl, and she wasn't too happy about being caught either. I didn't even think about what it she bites me, lol, which she didn't, thankfully.

She's skinny as a pole, and has a deformed bob tail thing going on. Covered in fleas as well. I don't know what to do with her, but I can't just turn her loose now. She's warmed up to me a bit, but I've got her locked in our bathroom so Ozzy and Enzo and Albus don't freak her out. I don't think the dogs will have a problem with her, and I've seen Albus hanging out with other cats in our neighborhood, but we don't need another cat. We don't even need the one we've got!

Nobody needs cats; they're decoration. And it looks as if your house is going to be a bit more decorated than you had planned on!

I would start with getting some GOOD gloves (gardening gloves kinda thing, something tough) and a thick sweater.. this should protect you from most biting/clawing.
and give her a bath with dawn! that will kill the fleas

Other than a bath to kill the fleas. All cats really need are a good meal and a litter box lol nobody NEEDS cats.. they are purely decoration.

Trust me. having one and having two is totally the same thing.

We don't have a litter box (our cats are indoor/outdoor) and we barely even notice we have cats lol

Id give her a bath and leave her in the bathroom with water and a litter box. then later go in there with food and try to get her to eat from your hand or trust you enough to eat while your around.
She will warm up eventually im sure

Or, if a bath is a no go (I've given three cats flea bathes this week...two had to be sedated because even thinking about touching them with water caused them to become insane psycho hell cats that we couldn't even pin and bathe with THREE people and even under sedation one cat STILL flipped out), you can buy a pill called a Capstar that will kill fleas for 24 or 48 hours, something like that. As long as she isn't coming into contact with any new fleas, then she should be good.

Since she is skiddish and most likely WON'T want a bath, I personally think it would easier to give her the pill in some moist catfood than try to bathe her yourself.

Are there any feral cat/TNR programs in your area? You can always contact them and see what they think is the best course of action. If she is young, she could probably be tamed up without any issues given a few days, but if she is older the best thing might to be the TNR idea.

I know exactly what you mean about not NEEDING cats, lol.

I don't know if she's going to stay or not. I WAS brave and gave her a bath and flea combed her. She's still locked in the bathroom with Albus's old litter box and food and water and a towel.

After I fed her she warmed up to me incredibly quickly. I had her in the bedroom with me, and she just slept on the bed the whole time. She's still skittish around Steven and of course I haven't let the dogs or Albus in to meet her at all.

I'm going to have the vet look her over on Tuesday probably. And see about them wanting a clinic cat. She's really a doll, but I can't AFFORD another cat's vet bills is what it boils down to. :/
