Default Our Costa Rica Vacation

Okay... I have enough uploaded to share. lol.

We went to Costa Rica for the week of May 8th and had an amazing time!

We flew into San Jose and rented a 4x4... first, we drove to La Fortuna to stay near the Arenal Volcano. It's the most active volcano in Costa Rica.

These birds were so cool... they had little mohawks, and kept hopping down the trail to the volcano:

This is Lake Arenal... the biggest lake in Costa Rica... as seen from our hike up:

Lava flows from the early 1900s, and Arenal in the background. It was so cloudy...

Lava flows and a warning:

We found the perfect swinging vine on our hike!

After spending a couple of nights in La Fortuna, we continued on our drive towards Monteverde. The roads are really... undeveloped... so we had to take a road allllll the way around the lake to get where we were going.

Here's Lake Arenal from our drive:

And some green hills...

We stopped off to take a picture, and this guy bounded down from a hotel yard to say "o hai!"

Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve... so cool.

View from the hanging bridge in the park... the white mist is clouds:

Hanging on our patio with Imperials. La cerveza de Costa Rica...

The patio was private and a nice place to hang out...

And here is Poas Volcano... we saw it on our last day. The cloud of smoke is caused by geysers in the crater... and the "lake" is made of sulfuric acid and rain water. Want to go for a swim?

*** THE END***

Thanks, everyone!

We had a blast... I would've stayed forever had the dogs been there, too

Yeah, and then there's the whole JOB= MONEY = GOODS&SERVICES thing that's so hard to get around, right?

Eh, I'd just carry a machete around and cut down my own food. Then I could build a small shack out of palm fronds and random odds and ends.
