Ugh, why?

Why do people take freaking 1 month old puppies to a public PARK. Stupid stupid stupid! And puppies with ear mites AND wormy bellies. Ugh.
People are so sad. . .

I'm started to like a 'no touch puppies unless they are from good breeders' rule.

I have always had that rule, My friend just bought a puppy from a petstore after 2 week's wanted to bring it over I said sorry No way. Even in a month i won't allow it Until an adult It can get anything Right now or already have it.
We don't play with puppies on walks either. I also look for Tag's & clean looking dogs. We've had a ungroomed knotted dog want to play. I said they weren't friendly & kept walking.

they can get all sorts of stuff from dog parks at that young age. poor pupps!

Augh I hate seeing that. A couple months ago there was this older gentalman who brough his 8 week old ACD puppie to the DP.

I know the pup was too young and in poor health. But in general I think that statement is rude.

If I followed that rule I would have never touched Sawyer as a puppy. Or Maggie May. .

I sure hope no poor bred puppies are ever in need in front of you.

I think it's more of a concern that pet store/BYB puppies are probably sick and she doesn't want to pass anything on to her dogs. Not that she actually has something against those puppies and doesn't want to be near them.


I hear ya. There was a guy a couple months ago that would bring his litter of husky pups to the dog park. And ask everybody there if they wanted one.

Along the same lines. I was walking out of walmart yesterday and a man had his -couldn't be more than 6 week old- Pitty pup on the ground just standing there. It was so sad.

You're right. I don't go seeking to pick up pet store/BYB puppies. You're exactly right. If someone has a litter of puppies and they don't look in good condition, I do my best to distance myself and/or go straight home and shower/wash my clothes before getting close to my dogs. There is not reason why I should put my dogs at risk just to hold a puppy.
