I noticed today while feeling on freddie's shoulders that there is a small bump that kinda feels like a vein or tiny insect on his shoulder. It doesn't move by it self but i can move it around by pressing against it.
My dog did get a chip implanted into him so I was thinking that's what it might be. Does anyone have a dog with a chip that has noticed a small bump around their shoulder? It is not really big, it may be 2 or 3cm long and very narrow, it almost feels like a vein. He is current on heartworm medicine, but still, I hope it's not some sort of parasite or worm. His behavior seems normal. UPDATE: Well as i researched what microchips look like, I found that they are in fact a grain size device, what i felt was like a rice grain so I'm convinced that must be what it was. Sorry, just get really paranoid about my dog's health. Since he is acting normal, that must be it. |

I've heard about them migrating in some dogs. Easiest way is to take him in and have him scanned ... just to be sure it's nothing.

Boomer has a chip that migrated to his shoulder and it feels exactly how you described your dog's bump. He had to have a chest xray not long ago and the vet laughed because you could see it off to the side on the xray image.
