I've seen that breed b4! I love them so much... ok, I've never met one, lol, but they are so beautiful. Especially when the ears aren't cropped... too bad they should though...

Rottiegirl- What bothers Renee is that you make it automatically seem that argentino dogos are aggressive by pointing that out. Did we ever ask if the breed was banned? No. If we want to know that information, we'll ask you

Exclamation Excuse me?

Well, that was the only info I knew about them. They are very beautifull, I wouldnt mind having one. Sorry but you can not tell me what I can and can not post. People need to stop assuming things and that is the real problem here! Too defensive.

"They are KNOWN to be aggressive"
?
I don't think there's any assumption going on here. You told us a certain breed is known to be aggressive, we disagreed. I wouldn't call that defensive, I would call that common sense.

Well, how would you feel if I posted something saying "Rottweilers are known to be aggressive"? Then I stated that that wasn't my personal opinion, just the only "information" that I knew about them.
You'd think firstly, where the hell did that information come from? It's very dangerous to lable a breed aggressive. It makes people assume that aggression from such a breed is normal, which it isn't. Renee is absolutely right, they are defensive not aggressive.

seems to me that you are very defensive of breed banning. youv created several threads about pit bulls and there legislations, stating facts that everyone here knows already and asking questions that have been asked a lot before instead of doing a search, and now all you say about dogos is "they are known to be aggressive"? dogos are a guard dog that was bred to hunt jaguars and mountain lions, of course they are tough and tenacious and can be fearsome. your beloved rottweilier has a worse rep than the dogo because the dogo is pretty rare. my german shepherd has a worse rep than the dogo for the same reason, gsd's have been very popular for a very long time and dogos are a rare and recent addition here in the US. I know my gsd has a reputation, I dont go around saying german shepherds are known to be aggressive, even though thats the only thing that many many people know about gsd's. honestly if that was the only thing I knew about a breed I would ASK if they are as aggressive as I have heard rather than STATE that they are aggressive.
the dogo is not for everyone and certainly not for an inexperienced dog owner. they are high drive, they are territorial and they are protective, and very very strong. but they are not aggressive. no breed is inherently "aggressive".
