She's very cute!

Looks to me like she doesn't have much visible growth plate left. I would guesstimate her final weight between 35-40 lbs.

THanks for the help OUTLINE! what do you mean by visible growth plate? i should add that her mom is 45-50 lbs and her dad is over around 60 lbs. I have read online and heard from friends that Heelers have an "accelerated growth period from 9-12 months" so that made me think shed probably be around the size of her mom, but my girlfriend would sure be happy if she stayed around the size she is now like you think she may.

Usually on the front legs where you would imagine the "knee cap", puppies have bumps there. Those are growth plates.

Picture That great dane puppy has visible groth plates in her/his front legs.

Also, some people overestimate the weight on their dogs. They may have said 50 lbs, but depending on what kind of shape the dog was in that could be deceiving.

My girls are both about 19-19.5 inches at the shoulder. One weighs around 43lbs, the other right at 40. This depends on how much muscle they are carrying and what time of the year it is. They tend to carry a little less weight in summer.

Your little girl looks to be about the size of mine. She may grow another half an inch, possibly and inch. She may not. I don't remember mine gaining much in the way of height after about 8 months. They did fill out after that, but it was a slow process.

Default thanks again!

thanks for more info! i was lucky enough to see lola's parents and they were definately some bigggg heelers but she looked like one of the smaller puppies. I was figuring 45 lbs before but you got me leaning towards her maybe ending up at 40. Her growth rates been pretty steady so far so she could maybe have a growth spurt and get big or start to slow down like you said at 8 mos and stay around 35-40 lbs. They sure are athletic and proud for their small size haha

Just so you can see here is Rumor at about 6 months.

Bayhouse 057

I couldn't find a good standing picture of her.

She weighs about 40lbs now. Not sure of her weight in the picture because that was almost 4 yrs ago.

She grew maybe a half inch after 6 months, but she filled out. I would guess she weighed around 30-35 lbs in that picture
