Tamaskan Dog?

So I'm currently watching The Littlest Hobo, which has resulted in me googling and Wiki-ing the Littlest Hobo, which has told me that apparently the stars (all named London) were Tamaskan dogs. I had a guy in the store once claiming his dog was a Tamaskan, but he was a bit of a loon so I shrugged him off thinking it was another crazy name for a mutt.

What are they? Anyone have more info? Another quick google says they're very pretty!

All I know is they're very rare and that the breed is being bred to look like a wolf without having any actual wolf content. I like the look and the sound of them. I'd love to meet one.

I'm pretty sure Utonagans and Tamaskans came out of the same stock then politics or soemting happened and they split.

Those are some nifty looking dogs. I think I would get overly tired of explaining to every person I met that no, I was not bringing a wolf to the playground.

I've met on in person when Izzy was three or so months old and getting boosters at the vet. In her defense she was a pregnant bitch but she went after Izzy as soon as we left the checkup room! Pretty dog but that one was mean.

After that I went on a little spree of looking them up and came to the same basic conclusion as Zoom.

But lets say you have one. Whats stoping your neighbour from calling the police and saying you have a pet wolf. Police come and think and swear tis a wolf. Do you have pappers? How good are the papers? That would be my worry.

A DNA test would be very useful in this case (different species versus different breed and all that)

Yeah, then you could prove it's a maltese mix.

not its IS good at telling one species from another. Just not arbitrary breeds within a species. (not as a definitive answer)

Wow, they are awesome looking dogs!

I think the only thing I would be afraid of is that "wolf hybrids" are illegal in NY and the headache of proving my dog isn't a wolf that may follow if a neighbor decided to call the police.
